Overview

Paleteria Y Neveria La Real Michoacana is a specialty frozen dessert shop in Winter Haven that has operated both as a brick-and-mortar establishment and a mobile food unit. The facility received an initial inspection on March 21, 2023, which cited four violations: a priority violation for the person in charge lacking knowledge of employee health reporting requirements and foodborne illness symptoms, and three foundation violations covering missing written vomit and diarrhea event cleanup procedures and absent sanitizer test kits. A follow-up inspection on April 28, 2023 found the mobile unit met mobile food guidelines and was approved for retailing prepackaged frozen products at events. However, a focused inspection on March 4, 2026 determined the brick-and-mortar facility was no longer processing food and employees were using it only for restroom access and supply storage. The inspector documented that the mobile unit was processing and dispensing perishable food items not permitted under mobile food guidelines and lacked a required hand wash sink for exposed food handling.
