About FloridaFoodSafety.org

Our Mission

FloridaFoodSafety.org exists to give Florida residents, visitors, and journalists transparent access to public health inspection data. We take official state records from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) and present them in a searchable, readable format.

  • 13,273+ emergency closures with reasons and reopening data
  • 27,000+ fire safety violations with inspector observations and legal citations
  • 36,000+ disciplinary actions with fines and enforcement office details

FloridaFoodSafety.org maintains complete editorial independence. We do not accept payment from restaurants or food establishments for coverage decisions. Every facility is treated equally based on objective data from state records.

How We Operate

  • Data is collected from official DBPR and FDACS sources and updated regularly
  • AI-assisted summaries are generated from inspection data, then reviewed by our editorial team
  • All data reflects official state records at time of publication
  • We clearly identify data sources, limitations, and update timestamps on every page
