KISSIMMEE, FL. Twelve restaurants in the Orlando tourist corridor were cited for high-severity health violations during the week of September 9 through September 15, 2026, with two International Drive eateries drawing the longest lists of critical findings in a stretch that draws millions of visitors each fall.

Corazon Cocina Mexicana on Visitors Circle led the week with nine high-severity violations, including no employee health policy, an employee who had not reported illness symptoms, food sourced from unapproved or unknown suppliers, and parasite destruction procedures that were not being followed. Inspectors also cited the restaurant for improper handwashing technique, unsanitized food contact surfaces, misuse of time as a public health control, and no consumer advisory for raw or undercooked items.

World Cafe on International Drive drew eight high-severity violations, including the same employee illness and food sourcing failures found at Corazon. Inspectors also found inadequate shell stock identification records, meaning shellfish on the menu could not be traced to a licensed supplier, and food that was not cooked to the required minimum temperature.

Tijuana Flats Burrito Company on Avalon Park Boulevard also accumulated eight high-severity violations. No person in charge was present or performing duties during the inspection. Inspectors additionally cited the location for food in poor condition, toxic chemicals improperly stored, and no allergen awareness demonstrated by staff.

What Inspectors Found Across the Corridor

Ten Ten Seafood and Grill on West Colonial Drive received seven high-severity violations, among them food not cooked to minimum temperature, misuse of time as a public health control, and improperly stored chemicals. An intermediate violation for improper sewage or wastewater disposal was also on the record.

Napasorn Thai Restaurant on East Pine Street drew seven high-severity violations including food from unapproved sources, improperly stored and unidentified toxic substances, and no consumer advisory for raw or undercooked dishes. The location was also cited for improper sewage or wastewater disposal, an intermediate violation.

Mecatos Bakery and Cafe on North Orange Avenue had seven high-severity violations cited during the week. No person in charge was present. Inspectors found inadequate shell stock records and parasite destruction procedures not followed, alongside food from unapproved sources and food not cooked to minimum temperature.

Mexican Restaurant Las Cazuelas on South Avalon Park Boulevard received seven high-severity violations, including no employee health policy, inadequate handwashing facilities, improper handwashing technique, and improperly stored chemicals. An intermediate violation for improper sewage or wastewater disposal accompanied the list.

Talay on North Orange Avenue collected seven high-severity violations, with no intermediate violations. Inspectors cited the restaurant for food from unapproved sources, misuse of time as a public health control, improperly stored chemicals, and no consumer advisory for raw or undercooked food.

Orient Cafe on South Semoran Boulevard was cited for six high-severity violations, including no employee health policy, inadequate shell stock records, and improperly stored chemicals. Inspectors also found multi-use utensils not properly cleaned and single-use items being reused.

Nan King Restaurant on Old Winter Garden Road drew five high-severity violations including parasite destruction procedures not followed and improperly stored chemicals. Single-use items were found being reused, and an intermediate violation for improper sewage disposal was also documented.

Grazie on Corrine Drive received three high-severity violations: improperly cleaned food contact surfaces, misuse of time as a public health control, and toxic substances improperly identified or stored. Intermediate violations included inadequate cooling and cold-holding equipment and inadequate ventilation.

Little Haiti Pate Kode on West Colonial Drive drew two high-severity violations, both chemical-related: toxic chemicals improperly stored or labeled, and toxic substances improperly identified, stored, or used.

What These Violations Mean

The most prevalent high-severity finding this week, appearing at nine of the twelve facilities, was the combination of employees not reporting illness symptoms and inadequate or missing employee health policies. At Corazon Cocina Mexicana, World Cafe, Tijuana Flats, Ten Ten Seafood and Grill, Napasorn Thai, Mecatos Bakery and Cafe, Mexican Restaurant Las Cazuelas, Talay, and Nan King Restaurant, inspectors documented at least one of these two violations. Food workers who do not report illness and operate without a written health policy are the single most documented cause of multi-victim Norovirus outbreaks. For tourists visiting Orlando for a week and then returning home, a foodborne illness may not present symptoms until after they have left the area, making the source difficult to trace.

Food from unapproved or unknown sources, cited at Corazon Cocina Mexicana, World Cafe, Napasorn Thai, Mecatos Bakery and Cafe, and Talay, means the supply chain for those ingredients bypasses USDA and FDA safety inspections. If a customer becomes ill from contaminated food at one of these locations, investigators cannot trace the product back to its origin.

Parasite destruction procedures not followed, documented at Corazon Cocina Mexicana, World Cafe, Mecatos Bakery and Cafe, and Nan King Restaurant, is specific to fish, pork, and wild game served raw or undercooked. Without proper freezing protocols, parasites including Anisakis in fish and Trichinella in pork survive to the plate. Inadequate shell stock records, found at World Cafe, Mecatos Bakery and Cafe, and Orient Cafe, create the same traceability gap for raw or lightly cooked shellfish.

Improperly stored or unidentified chemical substances appeared at nine of the twelve locations, including Ten Ten Seafood and Grill, Napasorn Thai, Grazie, Mexican Restaurant Las Cazuelas, Talay, Nan King Restaurant, Orient Cafe, and Little Haiti Pate Kode. Chemicals stored near food or without proper labeling create contamination risk that is invisible to kitchen staff and customers alike.

The Longer Record

The week's highest violation count landed at Corazon Cocina Mexicana on Visitors Circle, a location directly inside the tourist corridor near International Drive hotel properties. Nine high-severity violations in a single inspection, covering illness reporting, food sourcing, parasite controls, handwashing, and chemical storage simultaneously, represents a broad breakdown rather than an isolated lapse in one area of the kitchen.

World Cafe at 6582 International Drive sits in the densest stretch of tourist-facing restaurants in Central Florida, drawing theme park visitors and convention attendees throughout the year. Eight high-severity violations at a location serving that volume of out-of-town guests, including shellfish traceability failures and food not cooked to minimum temperature, carries a different weight than the same findings at a neighborhood restaurant.

Tijuana Flats on Avalon Park Boulevard was cited with no person in charge present during the inspection, a finding that correlates with cascading compliance failures. At Mecatos Bakery and Cafe on North Orange Avenue, the same absence of managerial oversight was documented alongside seven high-severity violations spanning sourcing, cooking temperature, and parasite controls.

Mexican Restaurant Las Cazuelas was the only location this week cited for inadequate handwashing facilities, meaning the physical infrastructure for hand hygiene was insufficient, not just the technique. That violation, combined with no employee health policy, improper handwashing technique, and sewage disposal problems at a single address, placed it among the most structurally compromised locations in this inspection cycle.
