Overview

Your Thrift Shop in Winter Haven is operating without a valid food permit as of March 18, 2025, when an FDACS inspector conducted a focused inspection and found the establishment had failed to maintain current permit status. The inspector ordered the facility to begin the permitting process within 10 days and noted that the permit type was changed from 135 to 123 during the visit. The facility has a history of permitting and compliance issues dating back to June 2022, when an initial inspection identified deficiencies including lack of written procedures for responding to vomiting or diarrheal events, improper air gap at the three-compartment sink creating a direct connection to the sewage system, and the person in charge's inability to correctly answer questions related to preventing foodborne illness transmission. A preoperational inspection in May 2024 cited six violations, and a focused inspection in November 2024 identified one violation. The most recent inspection on March 18, 2025 documented the permit lapse and required corrective action.
