Overview

Suave House, a convenience store with limited food service in Frostproof, underwent an initial preoperational inspection on February 24, 2026, and was cited for 7 violations. The inspection used the Minimum Construction Standards checklist under Florida Statutes 500.12(2)(a) to determine compliance before food permit issuance. Three priority foundation violations were documented: the person in charge lacked written employee health information and could not adequately answer questions about food-borne illness symptoms, reporting responsibilities, and employee exclusions and restrictions; the establishment did not have written procedures for vomit or diarrhea event cleanup; and the three-compartment sink's waste water drain was directly connected to the septic system without an air gap, creating a cross-connection hazard. Inspector guidance on employee health policy development and event cleanup procedures was provided to management. The facility must correct all violations and submit documentation to [email protected] to complete the food permit application process.
