ORLANDO, FL. Rico Chino Asian Cuisine at 6125 S. Semoran Blvd. drew 12 high-severity violations in a single inspection this week, including citations for food from unapproved sources, failure to follow parasite destruction procedures, and food documented as contaminated by chemical, physical, or biological hazards.
The restaurant also had no person in charge present or performing duties, no employee health policy, and employees not reporting symptoms of illness. That combination, three separate management and illness-reporting failures at once, appeared at multiple Orlando locations this week.
Inspectors cited 15 facilities across Orange County for high-severity violations between July 13 and July 19, 2026.
The Violations
Pizzany's at 12062 Collegiate Way followed with 10 high-severity violations, including inadequate handwashing by food employees, improper hand and arm washing technique, food from unapproved sources, and food contact surfaces not properly cleaned or sanitized. Inspectors also cited the restaurant for no employee health policy and no person in charge.
Tsuki Sushi and Grill at 9430 Narcoossee Rd. received nine high-severity citations, among them inadequate handwashing facilities, toxic substances improperly stored or used, and time as a public health control not properly used. The restaurant also had no consumer advisory posted for raw or undercooked foods, a violation that directly affects customers who are pregnant, elderly, or immunocompromised.
Memories of Peru II at 5700 International Dr. drew eight high-severity violations, including inadequate handwashing facilities, food from unapproved sources, shellfish without adequate identification records, and no allergen awareness demonstrated. That allergen finding is notable on a menu that may include seafood and other common allergens.
Naatu Naatu Indian Veg Cusine at 12185 S. Apopka Vineland Rd. was also cited for eight high-severity violations, including parasite destruction procedures not followed, time as a public health control not properly used, toxic chemicals improperly stored or labeled, and no allergen awareness. The parasite citation is unusual for a vegetarian restaurant and warrants close attention.
Santiago's Bodega at 802 Virginia Dr. received eight high-severity violations as well, including no person in charge, food from unapproved sources, shellfish without identification records, and toxic chemicals improperly stored or labeled.
Gogi Hotpot and BBQ and Sushi at 7251 W. Colonial Dr. was cited for seven high-severity violations, including parasite destruction procedures not followed, food not cooked to required minimum temperature, and improper sewage or wastewater disposal noted as an intermediate violation. That sewage finding at a restaurant serving raw fish compounds the risk.
Mito Sushi and Grill at 6764 Eagle Watch Dr. also drew seven high-severity violations, including inadequate handwashing facilities, improper handwashing technique, food from unapproved sources, and no consumer advisory for raw or undercooked foods. A sushi restaurant without a consumer advisory for raw fish is a direct risk to vulnerable diners.
Yalla Shawarma and Grill at 5135 International Dr. received seven high-severity violations, including parasite destruction procedures not followed, food not cooked to required minimum temperature, and toxic chemicals improperly stored or labeled. Single-use items were also found improperly reused.
Vicky Bakery at 334 N. Alafaya Trl. drew seven high-severity violations with no intermediate violations, including shellfish identification failures, parasite destruction procedures not followed, and time as a public health control not properly used.
Neo Asian Kitchen and Boba Tea at 6760 Eagle Watch Dr. was cited for seven high-severity violations, including food in poor condition or adulterated, required procedures for specialized processes not followed, and improper sewage or wastewater disposal. The specialized process citation suggests the kitchen may be performing curing, fermenting, or reduced-oxygen packaging without the required protocols in place.
Agave Azul Cocina Mexicana at 5475 Gateway Village Cir. received six high-severity violations, including no person in charge, improper handwashing technique, no consumer advisory for raw or undercooked foods, no allergen awareness, and improper sewage or wastewater disposal as an intermediate violation.
World of Beer at 431 E. Central Blvd. was cited for five high-severity violations, including food not cooked to required minimum temperature, food contact surfaces not properly cleaned or sanitized, and toxic chemicals improperly stored or labeled.
Tainos Bakery at 9161 Narcoossee Rd. received three high-severity violations, including food not cooked to required minimum temperature and food contact surfaces not properly cleaned or sanitized. Inspectors also found single-use items being reused and improper sewage disposal.
Eskina Brazilian Restaurant at 5623 International Dr. drew the fewest high-severity violations of the group, with one citation for food not cooked to required minimum temperature.
What These Violations Mean
The most widespread violation this week was the absence of an employee health policy, cited at Rico Chino Asian Cuisine, Pizzany's, Memories of Peru II, Naatu Naatu Indian Veg Cusine, Santiago's Bodega, World of Beer, Neo Asian Kitchen and Boba Tea, Yalla Shawarma and Grill, Vicky Bakery, and Agave Azul Cocina Mexicana. Without a written policy, there is no mechanism to keep a sick employee off the food line. Norovirus, which causes roughly 20 million illnesses in the United States each year, spreads most efficiently through food handled by an infected worker who had no reason to stay home.
Food from unapproved sources, cited at Rico Chino, Pizzany's, Tsuki Sushi, Memories of Peru II, Santiago's Bodega, Gogi Hotpot, Mito Sushi, and Neo Asian Kitchen, carries a specific traceability problem. When a customer gets sick, investigators trace the illness back through the supply chain. Food purchased outside licensed, inspected distributors has no chain of custody, meaning if Listeria or Salmonella is the cause, there is no record to follow.
Parasite destruction failures at Rico Chino, Naatu Naatu, Gogi Hotpot, Yalla Shawarma, and Vicky Bakery represent a direct biological hazard. Fish served raw or undercooked must be frozen to specific temperatures for specific durations to kill parasites including Anisakis, which causes severe abdominal pain and can require surgical removal. Without documentation that this process occurred, there is no way to confirm the fish on the plate was safe.
The toxic chemical storage violations at Tsuki Sushi, Santiago's Bodega, Naatu Naatu, World of Beer, Gogi Hotpot, and Yalla Shawarma are a separate category of risk entirely. Cleaning chemicals stored near or above food preparation surfaces can contaminate food through spills, mislabeling, or spray drift. Chemical poisoning from restaurant settings typically presents within minutes of ingestion and can require emergency treatment.
The Longer Record
Vicky Bakery has 40 prior inspections on record, the longest history of any facility cited this week, and still drew seven high-severity violations including shellfish traceability failures and parasite destruction lapses. Forty inspections is a substantial body of contact between a facility and state regulators. The violations documented this week are not the kind that emerge from a new employee making an isolated mistake.
Memories of Peru II has 35 prior inspections on record. Rico Chino Asian Cuisine, Pizzany's, and Mito Sushi and Grill each have 33. World of Beer has 32. These are not first-time encounters with inspectors. The recurrence of management-level failures, no person in charge, no health policy, no illness reporting, across facilities with three dozen inspections each points to a pattern of correction without sustained change.
Agave Azul Cocina Mexicana has only nine prior inspections on record, the fewest of any facility with significant violations this week, yet it accumulated six high-severity citations including sewage disposal issues and no allergen awareness. Eskina Brazilian Restaurant has seven prior inspections and drew only one high-severity violation, the lowest count of any facility on the list.
Gogi Hotpot and BBQ and Sushi has 17 prior inspections, still a relatively short history, yet it was cited for seven high-severity violations including improper sewage disposal and parasite destruction failures at a restaurant serving raw fish. Neo Asian Kitchen and Boba Tea, with 21 prior inspections, was cited for specialized process failures this week, a violation that requires inspectors to find evidence that a facility is performing advanced preservation or preparation techniques without the required written procedures and approvals in place. Whether those procedures have ever been submitted to regulators is not reflected in this week's inspection record.
