Comments: Request 5118924 Visited establishment. They are using time as a control for food safety. The complainant checked out with $105 of groceries at 12:20 pm. The items in question were the first things he selected while shopping. Complainant has the original containers and the time stamps show the Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and gravy would have expired at 1pm, and the chicken sandwich would have expired at 12N. The complainant went home from the store, just up the road, and ate the chicken after putting away the groceries. He eats once per day and is an avid cyclist (50 miles that morning). He became sick 2 hours after eating the chicken. He states that the bottom bun on the sandwich was dry and stale and he did not eat that. He also states that the gravy tasted "off". No heat or time issues were noted during the inspection. All foods appeared wholesome and within critical limits for food safety. All equipment appeared clean and employees were practicing good hygiene protocols. Management at this store is not aware of any other complaints.
